apprently drinking alots of water helps as it flushes stuff out and also stops your belly from being bloated
You need to lose weight if you really want to lose your belly. All the sit ups you can do won't make much difference if it's still got a layer of fat over it...

Eat less, exercise more.

Willpower.

Try doing sit ups and run/jog and drink a lot of plain water. It helps, although it won't magically disappear but it will loosen down a bit.

Hit the road and start running, as you get fitter, you're metabolism goes up so you'll burn more calories even when you're sitting watching tv, try interval training though as you burn more calories in less time.

How's that?

The flat out sprints are just making you work harder, if you've ever done a proper session it can leave you on the floor gasping for breath before you've even made it half way through.

After using it as a training method at rugby, we were told you'd probably burn the same amount of calories as a reasonably fast jog that took double the time, but it raises the metabolism higher than it would be by jogging after the exercise so you burn more calories in the hours after the session.

It's just the work; (relative)rest periods that change from normal slow cycling or running, just make it so you sprint for 1 time period compared to 2 for the rest period. On the rest period just pedal slower and let yourself recover, over the summer try to build up until the work:rest ratio is 1:1.
pm me if I havn't explained it well enough or you need any help.

nope thats all fine.thanks
Hmm, try swimming. This will tone you down well. If not then hit the road for a jog every morning.

I wouldn't mind losing weight too, but is there any other exercise I could do apart from running that could help me there. I do asthma when I try running too long. (I've also developped this phobic attitude towards running since a PE teacher forced me to run 40 minutes non stop -try that with a bit of asthma).
Any advice?

cycling or rowing? non impact, plus you aren't actually going anywhere (on a machine at least), so you can't get stuck in the middle of nowhere, having an asthma attack.

I have thought about trying this method but i can never bring myself to do it properly because it makes my throat, chest and legs hurt!

healthy diet= lose fat
sit ups= tone muscles
aerobic exercise (anything really, running/dancing/swimming/rowing/football/hockey/netball)= burns fat, as well as increasing muscle size which in turn burns more fat. Exercise also increases metabolism also helping to burn fat.
do all of the above and your belly should be perfect pretty soon

sit ups dont "tone mucles"
