it does imo seem a bit unfair, after all its your money and you do need it. Perhaps you could talk to the other girl and explain the situation- maybe agree for both of you to pay an equal amount in rent. then your mum gets ther money she needs and you've still got some left too??

i did think of that but i dont want this girl to start getting pissed off with me, she's a bit volatile... and also, im getting irritated with the idea that i'm paying towards her living costs. She spends more in a month than my dad pays - about double the amount in fact (i reckon)

compromise and take half the maitenance. forward the rest to your mums account. maybe the girl could then just pay a token amount of rent.

is she aware of your problems? could you not talk to her and drop hints- to see how she reacts?
