I got 3 D's at AS in physics, maths, and chemistry. My first choice uni is asking for ABB. I'm retaking most of my AS modules as well as taking my A2 exams. Is there any way on earth that i could get ABB and get into my first choice uni when my predicted grades are maximum BBB?

You might get an offer, I know someone who got an ABB offer and got CEU(ish can't quite remember) at AS. The main thing is will you meet that offer if you get it (she got BDD, although they still let her in).

Are you willing to put the work in ?

Because even if you don't get offers from Universities through the standard UCAS cycle you can find a great ABB course on clearing/adjustment at a Russell Group Uni.

I can't answer this. It's definitely possible. But it's down to you.

One solution for applicants with dodgy AS grades is to wait until you have your A2 grades before applying.

This way, no-one takes any notice of your AS grades (just your A2s), you can target your applications better (no guesswork about A2 grades), AND it gives you this year to really concentrate on your A2s without all the distractions of UCAS applications etc. This means you might actually get the ABB you need.

Recommended.
