I started my A levels this year, and am studying English Lit, History, Drama and Sociology. We drop one next year, and I was wondering whether universities would prefer Drama or Sociology when applying? Only because I've heard a lot of unis don't count Sociology and Drama as 'proper A levels'.

Well I think it's quite obvious... Drama would be the preferred one that you kept because, well drama is drama and in English Lit, you study drama texts so....?

In my experience (searching courses for the 2014 entry) universities tend to want English A-level and in some cases History A-level. The entry requirements never mention any other specific A-level so either Sociology or Drama will be fine. Drama would keep your options open for a lot more courses though as there are a lot more joint honours of English and Drama than English and Sociology. In the end it's your decision, I'd do the one you enjoy more or even keep on both, you've got a whole AS year yet to decide.

Thank you very much! I think I'm most likely to keep on doing drama, but I'll probably just see what I do best in for the first year and continue with that.
