    i got cosx=0 and sinx=1/3

    The mark scheme has missed out cosx, isn't cosx=0 a valid solution?

    secx and tanx do not exist when cosx=0

    how is this any different from cotxcosecx=6cotx

    diving by cotx means you lost a solution.

    No idea what you mean sorry. The answer is sin x=1/3 unless I'm answering a different question to the one I think you're asking.
