I never understand why people's chip so early. I use my hands a reasonable amount (washing up, writing)- and my nails don't really chip. However they need redoing like every 10 days because they grow so quickly and are too long with white bases and polish on top I can see cuticles after like a week too...

I've never had mine done professionally but I almost always have chips after 2 days at the latest. I spend the majority of my time typing though, and I tend to type more with my nails than with the pads of my fingertips, so I'm not surprised the tips chip a lot for me.

If I get one done at a salon it lasts a week, week and a half. If I do one myself only 2/3 days.

If I put a clear coat on top, about 2 weeks
If I don't put a clear coat on top, about 3 days

About a week! Mine starts to chip from the edges where my nails are thinner/breaking or they start to peel off if the nail art I do was slightly thick

I've had them done twice professionally with gel fx (gel-lac). The first time it lasted around 10 days, and the second time it lasted 3 days which was annoying!
I put it down to the nature of my job mostly which is very hands on

I've never had one, and I don't even wear nail polish.
I think it looks so tatty when it's chipped! :erm:
