Eligibility after leaving course

Hi,

I have been studying for a languages degree since September 2011. The duration of the course is 4 years, and this September I began my 3rd year which is a year of residence abroad for which I do not pay tuition fees. However, as a result of a lack of support and guidance from my university, I experienced many problems whilst abroad and had to make the decision to return to the UK. I would like to know if I would be eligible for a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan and grant if I were to start a new course, and if so, would this be for the duration of the new course? I have had a tuition fee loan for the first 2 years of study and I am on my 3rd year of maintenance loan and grant, however I have only received a third of this so far.

Thanks
Hi there,

Eligibility is calculated using previous study.

Each student is eligible for the length of their course + 1 gift year - any years previous study.

Your calculation is as follows

3 + 1 = 4 - 3 = 1 years full support. This is always allocated to the end of your course. For the first 2 years you are entitled to Maintenance loan only.

Thanks
