    a caterpillar of mass 6*10^9 grams is used to drag a car of mass 4*10^6 grams.The caterpillar is moving at a speed of 5m/s just before the towing rope suddenly becomes tight. calculate
    1,Velocity of the caterpillar immediately after the road becomes tight
    2,loss in kinetic energy of the system just before the car started moving
    3,The impulsive tension in the rope when it jerk into motion

    Can I also suggest that you show how far you have got with the question, and that you have made an attempt to answer it. Say what it is you don't understand and what theory or equations you already know and think might be relevant.
