my issue: the name that I use on ucas is an extension of the name that I use in school and I wanted to get a professional opinion as to whether or not this will affect or hinder my application in any form
    thanks in advance

not 100% sure if this is what you want but on UCAS you write your full name, exactly as it is on you're birth certificate and there is then a box for your preferred name, so what you like to be called. If thats not what you wanted can you be a bit clearer?

Thanks for your quick response, I wrote my full name on my UCAS but in school documents i have a shorter version of that name, I was wondering if that could affect my application

    for example:
    full name: john smith doe
in most places i just use: john smith

I used to use a short version in school too but I used all my 3 names on the UCAS application because that is how my name appears on my passport and other school certificates.
