children's and adult nursing and equivalents to GCSE maths

HI there I am really looking for a lot of advice and any ATALL would be greatly appreciated. I am a 25 year old female student living in NorthernIreland studying an access course (science) with the hope of startinguniversity September 2014 to study nursing. My predicament is I failed my mathsGCSE and I am just hoping there is someone out there that could guide me alittle. At this present time I feel my passion would to be eventually specialisingin a neonatal unit and so I had thought of doing children’s nursing. However withfailing my GCSE, my options aren’t so broad anymore. At the end of the day nursingis what I want to do and I am interested in all areas. So one question is: arethere any UK universities that accept essential/functional skill at level 2 asan equivalent to maths GCSE? I am pretty certain that University of Ulster UU)here in Northern Ireland does? I’m looking for answers for both Adult and children’snursing. I’d love to hear from current student nurse that may have been in mysituation.x
hi, I am in similar circumstances to yourself and as the nursing courses are so competitive with being funded, places are limited and I have heard that its only gcse level they will take, no less, hence I am looking at different options. The uni's have toughened up for this coming year. :-(
