Drawing Complex Ions- Quick Questions

Hi, basically just want something clarified, im using 2 books for ocr and they both have drawn the complex ions differently.
1. On the central metal ion, do we add it's charge, like for example say iron is the central metal ion, do we add Fe2+ in the middle or just leave as Fe
2. Do we show the lone pair of electrons on the ligands?

That's it, i know it doesn't sound like much, but OCR can be very picky.

hmmm well on the mark schemes they don't show either of those things...but it wouldn't harm to show them. i normally draw the complex ion and then put like those bracket things around it and write the charge..thats how one ocr book says. :smile:
