Eat lots of protein before you exercise and then some simple carbs straight after, on the days when you are trying to make your legs bigger, aim for about 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight.

Also do spinning classes- these are really tough on the legs!

Thats the problem though - no one uses decent form with squats. Unless the OP is prepared to take time to learn (ideally from someone in the gym with him, not just from websites etc) - maybe he should focus more on leg presses, which are less likely to **** him up.

I fully encourage squatting, IF its going to be done right.
