I've seen bit's of child porn on the "shallow" web anyways. If it's there you can a)turn it off or b) report it

neither's that disturbing an experience surely? soz might be different for a girl

The last sentence is barbaric. Why not have sympathy for people with such desires, knowing they can never morally act upon them.

I too have stubbled across it on the "shallow" web and it's disgusting. The poor little girl was like 4 years old ffs.

Somebody jacking off to a little child being forced to get sexually abused is NOT someone I will have any sympathy for. Why should I? Scum of the earth can burn in hell for all I care.

Almost like saying Tor is insecure because if you log into your YouTube account using Tor they might know who you are.

TOR is insecure, because just by accidentally viewing some messed up photos you MUST download them first (cache). Even if you clean cache, specialists would still be able to see that you had them and if it would have been some child pornography then you might even get arrested.
And TOR itself is a dangerous place now since Marques got arrested, because now when freedom hosting doesn't exist, it is harder to find safe sites.

I know it can be tracked but wouldn't the pure portability make it harder to actually get me? Say I buy a mobile broadband dongle, go to the middle of nowhere, do things, switch it off, come home. Sure they can track me but they will track me to a field where I was only present for half an hour?

Yeah, but if you use the broadband again at eg. your house, then they would know your address ^_^

Fair enough - never seen anything that bad I'm glad to say

I've never had reason to, although I am kinda curious about it. Makes me wonder what can take up such a massive amount of the internet...

Curiosity is the first step to hell. Glad somebody will join me
No, wouldn't have known how to. I recall reading about the underweb but I believe it's a dead database now(?) Wouldn't want to see anything gruesome, there are bad enough pictures on the easily accessible web. 10 years ago when you used to be bombarded with pop ups and didn't have as good emails filters I've heard of things being sent from rotten.com and stuff like that.

Does it look the same in format? I'd imagine them to look really basic and gritty like how pages looked in around 1997.

I think it's around 4% of the net which google is said to have indexed. I don't think I've ever used a website that's not cataloged by some search engine but I know there's a lot more.

Have you?

It's a freaky place, too much pedo candy down there. Avoid if possible.

Ok cool scratch that plan. Just to confirm, I use this tor, search whatever I want and no party van? Promise?

For anyone looking to access the "deep web" a couple install tips that might make the difference between "oh sorry officer" and X years in jail.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD TO YOUR ROOT/C: DRIVE
Best course is to use true crypt, make a hidden volume, put embarrassing or confidential data in the outer volume (so you have a plausible reason to have the encrypted file),
Install virtual box to this drive, NOT TO C:, boot up a virtual windows, install true crypt on your VM, again with the hidden volume, install TOR inside the hidden volume, run TOR,
TURN OFF JAVASCRIPT,
when your done scrub your computer with a secure cleaner, like ccleaner, and poof, you can now do a lot more than you could before.

If your dead set on doing seriously illegal stuff, then you'll need to do a lot lot more, but there is no way in hell I'm telling you how.

*Informational use only, please don't carry out illegal actions.*

Promise, but don't just go into any link possible, there are some trolls out there :bunny:
And if you don't want to go into the deep web and feel like it isn't safe then honestly, don't. It isn't worth the stress.

Aha. :colondollar:
I've always been too curious for my own good... Having said that, I think I've had quite enough of shock/generally grim sites since my friends made me sit through 'Rotten.com', 'ThatsPhucked' etc. a few years back.

Appreciate your info. earlier in the thread though, I knew very little about how to actually access it.

'Snuff' referring to video recordings of actual murders. Not something I'd like to see...

Really easy to get infect your computer on TOR, therefore I suggest that you shouldn't just go anywhere you want . I know you'll go in anyway (curiosity kills, ha?), but don't do anything stupid and if you feel like you shouldn't click somewhere then don't. Deep web isn't a nice place.

If you're accidentally viewing some messed up photos, why are specialists looking at your drive in the first place? The only reason that would happen is because you've already gone and given yourself away. You've just completely skipped a step there.
Also, FH's downfall has not suddenly made Tor insecure. They were just one of many hosts and the reason the FBI even took it down is because their servers weren't secured from exploits. Nothing to do with Tor - the same thing would have happened if they were running on the WWW.

Really curious now! I just want to see what this whole "deep web" looks like... Don't give a sh*t about all the illegal/porn stuff.
