As Connexions is no longer a national service and doesn't exist in many areas it may be of little help.
OP as dyslexic you are entitled to an assessment of SEN and receive any support it recommends. It does not include any money for you though.

In my experience even when a student is identified as experiencing learning difficulties there is little funding to provide the support. The OP can use some of the free software tools to help themselves such as MyStudyBar or demo version of software like Texthelp read & Write and Inspiration.
