How do i answer this 3 marker question? IMPOSSIBRUUU

okay in the jan 2007 mathematics pure core 1, there is a question specifically 4d. for which i simply dont know how to begin to answer
http://filestore.aqa.org.uk/subjects/AQA-MPC1-W-QP-JAN07.PDF

A circle with centre C has equation x^2+y^2 +2x-12y +12= 0 .

The line with equation x+y=4 intersects the circle at the points P and Q.
(i) Show that the x-coordinates of P and Q satisfy the equation
x^2 +3x-10=0

i know its only a 3 marker question
but could you tell me what kind of formula/knowledge i need to answer this question.
and if possible how to answer it.

i will give you cookies and good rep

Let equation 1 be x2+y2+2x12y+12=0x^2+y^2 +2x-12y +12= 0

Let equation 2 be y=4xy=4-x

Substitute equation 2 into equation 1 to get the quadratic.
