Epidemiology/Medical Statistics

Anyone know anything about the route to becoming epidemiologist/medical statistician? Got a good masters in maths with a good proportion of statistics and bits of medical stats.

I still think I want to do medicine but people have suggested this to me as an alternative.

The ideas I have are either...

PhD in some relevant subject (was offered one in cancer research but turned it down due to health issues this year, so I guess I could get accepted again for one in the next couple of years)

MB/Biomedicine - Reason is that this way if I did MB i could still do clinical medicine if I wanted to and also I am already struggling with my lack of medical knowledge. Or i could do biomed, shorter and would give me some background that would be useful.

Any help you could give would be much appreciated

you can always do a medical degree first?

Isn't there a course in Public Health somewhere in the UK you could do on top? You could try applying to pharmazeutical firms, they often advertise in medical magazines etc.

Alot of people have been saying that anatomy or something alittle differant is good for grade medicine as many people who have been rejected from med schools go down that route.
However only do this when your sure about medicine, you seem abit unclear at the mo.

That route being bio medicine post above a tad unclear, and also grade is grad as in graduate.
