Testicular cancer

Have been to doctors 2 months ago, well thereabouts... maybe 10 weeks. He did a physical exam and was obviously convinced there was nothing wrong - and within a day the pain in my groin and everything had just ebbed away. I was ecstatic.

A few days ago the old feeling started coming back, its not NEARLY as painful though. And the ache is not dull. It feels like my muscle around the inside and rear of my thigh, and also around my left testicle is just kind of full of sand. There is a kind of tickling element to it, but also inside my hip region - on the left especially, there is a solid aching pain.. And remembering all the reading up I did after my last scare, to me this represents cancer spreading to the bladder/lymph nodes and all sorts. I am going to make a doctors appointment tomorrow, because even if this is a muscle tear or something else... its too annoying to ignore.

I just really hope this isn't cancer, because despite good survival rates, having just had my grandmother pass away from cancer, there's no way I need to go through all that. Neither do my family.

Any idea what the hell is wrong?? The pain seems to be linked to the positioning of my leg, and is only on the left side. I start to think its psychological.. but when I look for a lump (though like the doctor I cant find one) I get the tickling ache again and everything.. and it wont go away..

Please, any words of help or even your own experiences might be VERY helpful here. I think ive ruled out urinary tract infections and the like... but id like some kind of idea of what this might be.

And btw, i havent been sexually active.. so its not an STI.

Please help!

Sounds like it could be a torn muscle or something, especially because it's affected by the positioning of your leg. You're probably assuming the worst because of your recent loss, I wouldn't worry too much. Wait and see what the Doctor has to say.

I have a question. When you check for testicular cancer what exactly are you looking for? Would a lump be hard and obvious, because I'm not sure I'd be able to notice a slight abnormality or small soft lump. It scares me.

Sorry to hear about all the worrying; i know it's not nice to have thoughts about things such as this. But you can't just go diagnosing it as cancer and other things, this is what doctors are for. It's good you're making an appointment because a lot of guys are too scared to go and get checked out due to embarassment and end up going too late.

It could be any thing and i'm not a medical student so i could say things such as hernias and other things but it's not worth it. Just go and get it checked out and stop looking up htings on the internet.

Good luck.

I wasnt aware of my grans cancer before I went the first time, so that wasnt motivation... In fact Id never even though about t. cancer... which is why I suddenly got worried.

Im pretty sure the 10 weeks space would mean that even if I was right first time and it was cancer and the doctor missed it, then I still dont think it would be too late. Considering im a teenager and all. And a pretty stubborn one at that! Just don't need this really, I want them to do a scan or something and just tell me WHAT is wrong... Though the initial pain started after a HARDCORE badminton session, and pain remerged after playing some casual sports, and some running... So maybe the muscle thing, though its just SUCH close proximity.

Maybe im irritating the testicle by keeping checking it.
If it is testicular cancer, after 10 weeks the worst they would have to do is remove that particular testicle. But it probably is a torn muscle if it's hurting your thigh. :p:

More my back on that side than my thigh, but really low down, such that leaning forward when seated and bending forwards when standing I can feel it around the inner hips and stuff. The pain just feels INSIDE though, is all... And that might indicate a transfer to lymph nodes??

And idea how long cancer takes to spread in worst cases to remote sites?? I know you arent doctors, but I just cant find that info online.

Just stop looking at this stuff. That's the most healthy thing to do. You're going to make an appointment with the doctor and that's going to be most constructive thing. It's really not necessary to know the information you're asking.

I was at the doctor's recently checking a lump ( turned out it was a cyst) and basically he said that cancer would usually show up as a solid lump inside the testicle itself. What you have doesn't quite sound like that, but then I'm not a doctor. Also, apparently the survival rates for testicular cancer is among the highest of all cancers, well above 90% if discovered early. Try not to worry too much, if its something wrong the doctors are the ones best qualified to tell you what to do about it, and its quite possible that its nothing serious. Maybe you have just stretched a muscle or smth.
