My mum said i'm ugly

My own mum said that I'm not pretty enough for a good guy and said that a guy would leave me for a prettier girl and it's really gotten inside my head. :frown:
What do I do? I've tried talking to her about how it upset me but she doesn't seem to understand that what she said is hurtful.

What exactly did she say when you talked to her?

Your Mums a liar. You are Beautiful!

Reply 3

I find it ridiculous and hard to believe that mothers like this can exist.

Reply 4

You are beautiful, no matter what they say.

WOOOOOOOORDS CANT BRING YOUUUUUUUUU DOWWWWNNNNNN OH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

ya see.

She must die.

No, seriously that's an awful thing to say to someone. It's a billion times worse when it's from your mother.

Reply 6

What a cow. "A face only a mother could love", so much for that.

Reply 7

You should tell her it's a lot worse to be ugly on the inside.

That's absolutely horrible, no disrespect but I'm guessing your mother isn't very happy with her own life so is deciding to take it out on you and make herself feel better about herself by saying horrible things to you. Those sorts of people are poisonous don't listen to her and ignore anything she says in future.

Thankyou guys so much! You have no idea how better you've all made me feel. You're right, I'll completely ignore her poisenous comments. I love you tsrians

Hey anonymous,

May I ask how old are you?
Let's take a step back and take a deep breath..
Can you tell us what happened? Did she say it in heat of an argument with you? Because a lot of times people say and do things in anger that they really don't mean.

She is your mother and I invite you to respect her as a mom regardless of the incident.
If by beauty you're referring to only the outer/surface beauty, then you're missing the real beauty that lies in your heart young lady . I'm not going to lie here, I prefer company of a kind intelligent human being (male or female) to most attractive yet heartless person any day.

Watch this video, it's about a girl that people call her 'ugly'. Let me know how you feel then, you can discuss about your concerns with us

When there is no understanding, the only thing we are left with is frustration, anger and pain.

Don't take her word into account! She's probably lost her mind when she was talking to you. Every human being is beautiful in their own special way and beauty comes within. If she keeps calling you ugly act like you don't care because maybe she's trying to provoke you. “Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are.”
