Spray-painting shoes?!

This sounds bizarre, but I really have no idea whether this is possible. I have a pair of quite dull looking leather slingbacks, and they would look fab in an over-the-top gold or silver...you know, kind of trashy but not?? :p:
But would I be able to do it? Would it stay on? Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how they'd look?
All opinions (including the "what is wrong with you  " type comments) are welcome...

Spray paint generally isn't for shoes:rolleyes:

But you would have to read the pack to see if it will work on leather.

ok, so, i have a bottle of it in my room to dye a pair of green shoes blue, and it says in the instructions that it dyes any colour over any colour - so that means it'll dye gold over black!

i've found this one on ebay - here

hope this helps!

Thanks...just to ask: How exactly do you use it  ? Like, you just leave it on and it dyes? And how long does it take?

me and my friends went through a massive stage of spray painting everything. if the shoes are leather then they'll spray paint fine. just make sure you do it outside, and hold it at a fair distance to get even coverage. the best thing about it is if they do scuff, you can just keep spraying over them, i have gold and silver everything... bags, belts - sprayed some gold stars on my denim skirts i made, looks well good. do ittttttt! xxxxx
I spray painted my Doc Martens a couple of years ago now- I did them in er super bright metallic green  If the shoes aren't made of a porous material, which will absorb the spray (ie: they're leather as opposed to canvas or something) then it should work fine. Cover with masking tape the bits you don't want to spray and work in a ventilated area. Also, test on sample material the spray, so you get used to the force behind it and so get an even coverage on your shoes. However, I ended throwing my DMs away as the spray all cracked as I walked- in the wrinkly bits of my shoes, I mean. Feel free to try it though- what's the harm, right? I got my sprays from Wilkinsons for about £3 a pop although that was years ago now.

So what? There's nothing wrong with experimenting.
