Medical Microbiology

I'm a 1st year med student at Leicester interested in transferring course. Can anyone give me information or their own opinions on the medical microbiology course? What is the timetable like? How much time is spent in labs etc. What made you pick medical microbiology over biological sciences (microbiology)?

Hey, I am currently studying first-year medical physiology. The modules are the same for all the medical science students (med physiology, med microbiology, med genetics & med biochem) in their first year. The timetable isn't that bad - I would say we have about 15 contact hours/wk and one three-hr practical per week (biological science students have two three-hr labs/wk I believe). I chose medical physiology over biological sciences because I am actually interested in medicine and think it will be a bit more relevant to my career goal.

Hope I've helped! Let me know if you have any other questions.
