Becoming a heavyweight at drinking

Its not something im proud of, but how do you become less likely to get "drunk" or "pissed" when drinking for example last night i do 2pints and a barcadi breezer and i was feeling tipsy and to the point where i was nearly drunk. where as all my mates would be drinking loads and still be okay. I dont want any replies from people who think peer pressure but i have a geniune question. thanks

The only way to do it is more practice. The more often you drink, the more tolerance you build up. Though why you would want to, I'm not sure. You'll end up spending more.
You could also do body building as the more of you there is, the longer it takes to get you drunk. That's why girls get drunk faster.

Practise, practise, practise!*

But it may be that you will never be a 'big' drinker, its a lot to do with build and other things you can't control.

*Note, the writer of this post does not condone binge drinking and urges the reader to drink in moderation...

Your tolerance increases over time if you drink heavily, regularly. It drops off really quickly, mind.
tbh thats not that bad. depends on how quickly you drink and how big you are but if your not a heavy drinker then that sounds normal.

Also don't mix your drinks that early! If your a lightweight you should stick to one drink all night... people who mix them are the heavy weights and the only way they can get drunk.

Pick a drink you like and yes drink it all the time, first few times itll take a few, then a few more, then a few more. Eventually you can drink it all night and wont do much to you...
Just rememeber though its crap having to pay like £30 to get drunk in a night, most wish they cud do it on a tenner...

Being a heavyweight sucks.

Lightweightness makes for more hilarity and cheaper nights

I'm always the first to say, when rolling on the floor laughing, "Being a lightweight rocks!"

eww raw olive oil...that's rank!

not the best idea to be shovelling loadsa calories down you before drinking even more...must be like a fasttrack to cirrhosis
Heh. Getting pissed easy is a GOOD thing!

When I was 12/13 I started drinking half a (small) bottle of neat vodka at a time, and then worked my way up to a full bottle and by the time I was 15 it took loads to get me drunk! I had to lay off almost completely for about a year just to get slightly back into a normal range! Even now it takes ages for me to get drunk. I'm gutted!

Yes everyone, let's all condone drug abuse!
(sorry, i know what was said in the first post - but i've got to point out when things like this are said).

Just drink more and the body will become more immune to the poison that you need to pump it with more to feel the effects. (Although i don't support this).

Innit

Put on some weight, eat lots before you drink, and spread out ur drinks throughout the night. That should do the trick.

Stay a lightweight.. FAR cheaper. And easier on your liver.
Spread out drinks, drink slowly, and space out your alcoholic drinks with a soft drink or two. And don't drink on an empty stomach.

"Competitive" drinking is just daft and expensive. Being a lightweight can be an enviable position, you can spend a lot less on a night out and have a good time.
Hmmmm, If you don't want to get drunk why not just have A drink then drink soft drinks till everyone else is ******ed then have a few and you will be good!

I like being a lightweight, but I don't like being sick!
Stay a light weight! Or drink soft drinks inbetween each drink if you're worried about getting plastered when everyone else is sober. I'm much more of a heavyweight than I used to be cos I literally am 'heavy weight', its not nice! Eat before you drink- I really don't think its something to moan about though.
There are also uncontrollable factors - such as being Asian means you're more likely to get drunk faster (less tolerable to alcohol) because you're more likely to have a mutated form of an enzyme.

My poor old man had to have 20 pints of smiths before he got smashed. Poor sod must have fished out £40 whereas 3 pints and im anybodies ;D
