Why bother?
In a language they don't understand.

More seriousely, It depends how you broke up.
Amicably.
I've worked out that I willl bare no grudges, and just be my normal happy self. Its the best way, believe me. Underneath, you might not stomach it, but speak to them amicably and leave - fast!

It's pretty hard for anyone to give you a helpful answer to this because you've provided almost no information.

Is there a specific reason you need to talk to them or do you just feel like it?
How long ago did you break up?
Why did you break up?
Was it a friendly break up or a nastier one?

Etc...

Obviously how you would talk to them completely depends on all of these things, e.g. if you want to ask for them to give you back your CDs after they slept with your best mate would be a pretty different "talk" to one where you were trying to get in contact with them again after losing touch because you want to get back together.
if i was to see my ex i would talk to her, id do things that i cnt talk about on an open forum but lets say there would be a lot of pain involved on her part lol
It would go something like this
him: hello..
me: *slaps and walks away*

Some girls really need to be put in their place, bitch be cool!
Is he worth wasting time on?
You open your mouth, flex the tongue a certain way and words come out.

Arrange to meet somewhere to go shopping or for a drink. I'm never drinking again though so that won't work with me...

MSN is guud too, at least if you are quite far away like I am from my ex...
