Hiya

I can't get much sense out of student finance

Ok I did K101 at the open university which is a level 4 qualification. I am now doing a foundation degree in teaching. I am doing it part time over 2 years. Do you know if they class the foundation degree as a 'whole' qualification, if they do, I will be ok, because it is level 5, however year 1 is level 4. I can't go straight on to year 2 of the foundation degree and there is no way I can afford the £5k. Even if I deferred to try and save, I have 2 small children so in no way could afford it. I am not working either.
Thanks to anyone who replies

Are you sure it's a foundation degree you're doing? Or just a foundation course?

Foundation degree's are usually 2 years full time. Whereas a foundation course is one year full time. (So double the time frames for part time).

Foundation degree's are a standalone qualifications, yes.

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes it is definitely a foundation degree. It is the 2 year extended so we continue through the holidays, and a lot of the hours are placement based (can't remember the exact figures)
