There is a county called West Midlands (Birmingham and Coventry are in it), and it is in a region also called the West Midlands. The West Midlands region also includes surrounding counties like Herefordshire and Warwickshire.
Regions are mostly just used for statistical purposes, but also EU elections are based around them. You vote within your region.
