    You obviously want to keep as much of your product as possible, but dry it.

    The purpose of a drying agent is to remove any excess water from the product!

    Only anhydrous calcium chloride, anhydrous potassium carbonate, anhydrous magnesium sulfate are the most common answers.

    Don't use the other ones as they aren't always accepted in mark schemes.
