no its not too late should be abel to do it at any local schools who conduct public examinations in your area. just call them up and ask, almost all schools let external candidates sit papers. and no it wont muddle up anything with your new school. But tell me is it really worth retaking gcse? i say move on AS levels and alevels have a higher weighting when it comes to universities, although gcse's can play a significant role the majority of universities do realise that people do not fully reach their academic potential until they reach alevel.

:ditto: Most places only offer GCSE resits in English and maths for the very reason that those are the only subjects you really need to resit if you don't get Cs.

Also, whats a community college and how does it differ from sixthform? Thanks.

Well my school is a community college and the only difference between it and a normal school (not a college) is that it provides college type courses for the local community.

is it too late to apply for another college?

I would not apply to another college on this basis alone. If you want to resit GCSEs then you can do it at any school or college that accepts external candidates and still attend the college you are planning. I wouldn't worry until you receieve your exam results though.

Further Education colleges usually offer a few, are you doing A Levels alongside GCSEs? If you are just doing GCSEs you could stay back a year at your school?

do the universities u apply for know that u have retaken subjects? and can we retake the sciences? i thought u could only retake maths and english, Im asking for my brother who got his results today he got 6As and 5Bs but he wants to do aeronautical engineering and i think its quite tough, so i was thinkin mayb he could retake physics and maths.
Yes and yes. On the UCAS form, you have to list when you took the examination. The sciences can be re-taken. The coursework marks for the Individual Skills Assessment can be carried forward from the previous sitting or re-taken if appropriate supervision can be found (such as at a local school, college or adult education class). It depends on his grades. It is worth looking at the entry requirements for the universities in which he is interested. The literature will only provide a general guide, but it is a useful indication nevertheless. Good luck

Can you resit GCSEs at any time? As in, if I were to take a gap year in order to better my application before applying again, would I be able to retake my GCSEs this summer?

Yes, but there are deadlines that apply. The deadline is 22nd February. You can still apply after this date, but you would need to pay late fees. Some schools and colleges also request an administration fee. This goes directly to them, not the awarding body.
Im thinking of retaking my maths GCSE although it is a little late in the year..my sixth form are already halfway through the maths course so it would be a little late to enrol inthis course. Where can i have lessons & enter the exam?
