Kissing friends

Ok, i want to conduct a bit of research here because one of my friends has pissed me off grr! Basically, somehow it came into our convo that sometimes I would kiss as well as hug my female friends, say if it was a special occasion or something. I don't mean like a romantic kiss on the lips, just like a peck on the cheek or something more *friendly*. Anyway, my friend totally flipped out at the prospect of this, and got stressed saying stuff like "well *I* only kiss amy (his gf) and thats the way it shud be*.

So, do you think its inappropriate to kiss friends at all, in a friendly way on the cheek? I really don't!
I say its normal to give your close female friends a birthday kiss or a happy new year kiss. in some countries all friends kiss

Yes, really it is. I think it's more down to maturity and age.

When you get older, the first thing you see people do usually is greet one another with a kiss (close friends, like family friends etc. not strangers lol). There's no harm in it.

...I don't know where you're from in England but where I'm from I always greet my friends (male and female) with a kiss on the cheek!

I always kiss my female and some male friends [even straight] on the cheek, especially if I haven't seen them for a while. It's completely normal.

what if it was a full on passionate kiss?
