Mates or lover?

Sorry, i know there have been posts like this before but only one-word answers are required. if u had a choice between your long-term lover who you're having a serious relationship with and your mates, who would you choose?

My lover. Because this potential lover is only and idea, and therefore is perfect. She therefore would be the most enjoyable person to spend time with no matter what the situation.

If you're talking about real people then it'd very much depend on a lot of things. It would be unfair to demand that your lover spent all their time with you and none with their mates (if i've interpreted the situation right :p:
