I'm investigating genderlect and looking at how specifically Jeremy Kyle talks to both a male interviewee and a female interviewee.

I have the introduction and methodology pretty much sorted, but analysis? Ha, no chance.

I have no idea what to write or how to structure it. I've said I'll be looking at Deborah Tannen as well as Zimmerman & West but how do I incorporate their ideas? I just have no clue at all how to even begin to do this.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated (please!)

Thank you!

Start by looking at what Zimmerman and West and the other theorist have said in their theories and see how you can apply this to what you're saying.

You might want to test their theories or if you're making a point you might want to bring them in as evidence and support.

Hope this helps!

I'm doing coursework on AQA B which is a language investigation and it took me ages to start my findings and analysis!

Research some more current theorists if you want to get a higher mark. If you watch some clips from the show, you'll probably fall across things that will fit with your methodology by accident. Also look at things like turn-taking, interruptions and conversational power - these things could spring some interesting results - especially when looking at Jeremy Kyle.
