well it depends on how bad the stuttering is

I lived with a guy briefly who had a stutter, but everyone loved him because of it. I guess it has it's advantages,
I used to stutter and people didnt as a rule have any particular reaction; no one had a negative reaction anyway. The most common things were being told to relax and for people to guess what they thought i wanted to say and say it for me; while both of these were dont with the best intentions they were quite possibly the most aggravating things anyone could have done.
I think its a natural reaction though; people assume you're going to want a hand or whatever....maybe its because the stutter makes them uncomfortable.....it never occurred to me to ask.......

It got Gareth Gates to £9 million in recording and sponsorship contracts. You could buy a third of Wayne Rooney with that kinda money!

Why would you want a third of Wayne Rooney?
I can't see anyone wanting the head.
And I definitely don't want the nether regions.
Can't say his legs would appeal much to me either, even though I am an England fan.

Doesn't really leave much of him left does it?

I have a stutter too. Apparently 1 in every 100 ppl do so its not that rare. I would love to meet someone who stutters so we could talk about our experiences etc.
Double Post Lolz!
Add me to the stutterin' crew.
I used to, about 11-12 years ago. It was bloody annoying, but what was most frustrating was opening your mouth to say something and nothing coming out, however much you tried!
god yeah; words would literally seem to catch in my throat and even though i'd been totally set to say something, there was nothing...
it was even worse on the phone, as people weren't aware of it happening and used to get annoyed thinking it was a prank call.....its left me with an ever present dislike of phoning anyone; very occasionally it still happens, often at the most annoying times.
I had speech therapy though; and i really got lucky, the therapists were fantastic; i had both individual and group therapy (this was when i was about 11) and for all intents and purposed i dont stutter or stammer at all now, and i still utilise some of the techniques i was shown.....

people take the piss out of those with stutters. Like on those pre recorded prank call things where they use people with stammers and they dont know what to make of it, but at same time you're laughing you ass off ;]

Bit harsh really because it must be really frustrating sometimes.

You got speech therapy? How much does that cost (individually) and how easy is it to find a place?
presuming that was addressed to me....i got it on the NHS. I imagine that to get private therapy would be expensive; you'd really have to see no other option......
places wise, we didnt have to wait at all, and then i got into the group therapy easily because my individual therapist ran it and was starting a new course with a new group of people....
i guess you could contact your GP to see about getting a referral or something, to be honest i have no idea how my parents contacted anyone, i was 11 and organisational details werent something i spent alot of time thinking about:redface:

As the poster above said, you can get it on the NHS (cheers Nye Bevan you cuddly Welshman) and placing won't be a problem but you might have to travel a bit due to the relative scarcity of speech therapists. I've had to move places twice, further from home each time in the last few years.

Was it something like "THIS CONVERSATION (ABOUT STAMMERING) WILL TAKE A LONG TIME/BE DIFFICULT (DUE TO THE STAMMERING), AMIRITE????"
