Hi guys, I'm getting a new laptop for Christmas and it's basically going to be the one that I'll be taking to university next year.

Thing is I'm not sure which to get, or where is the best to look. I've got a price range from about £400-£800... I really don't want to be ridiculous and spend like £1000 on a MacBook or something - I'd need it to play games such as The Sims 3 etc and I'd need to run some high-power software such as Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas etc.

Any suggestions? Good graphics card and lots of memory space is really the only essential.

Thankyou!

This is what I've got, 8GB RAM 750GB hard drive... does everything you'll ever need, opens programs fast, runs them fast and is half the price of any other laptop with the same spec!

Photoshop and other adobe software require 8gb of memory RAM (8GB DDR3 RAM) do not go for anything lower. Try and find an i7 processor. And at least a 15inch screen!
