"Hi, I read your profile. I like you. How are you?" So maybe not so abrupt and robotesque. Tell him what you told TSR. It's that easy and no, it's not stalkerish to say you read the profile. The whole point of a profile is for people to read it. :borat:

He probably gets very few first messages anyway! Most girls don't message first online. Go for it, I'm sure he'll be happy to get a message from you! Just tell him what you put here.

Okay thanks, isn't "i like you" a bit too forward though? I don't want to appear desperate or creepy?

Lol I didn't mean write the line literally, just word it in a way that sounds more natural like "I like the way you come across on your profile" or something.

Throw in something about yourself too, so he's got something to answer. Also correct the lowercase "I".

Im currently dating someone I met on POF. I messaged her first, taking into consideration what she wrote in her profile. I saw that she said she loved to eat food, so I asked her the best thing shes ever ate. I also told her my answer so there was no reason for her to be embarrassed.

We've been on two dates and setting up a third. Being truthfully interested in their hobbies and quirks is always a good way to show interest and intent.

Well no but, I just wondered why someone was worrying so much about writing the first message if it's a dating site. Thought it could have been a friend of a friend on facebook who was in the same groups as her or something. If a guy is on a dating site then he's obviously interested in meeting people online, and he'd probably be happy to receive a message. Why would it be stalkerish or creepy?

    How's it going anyway OP?
