What is meant by "It's my understanding that there will be more or less three levels for A grades, two levels for a B and two for a C," ? There are A*, A, B, C, D, E, F, G and U ( kind of) 8 grades.

Try reading the whole article.

GCSE grades will be from 9 to 1 with a 9 being the top grade.

What I was getting at is how the teachers union and teachers were comparing the number grades to the letter grades? Do you think that fewer grades below C or 3/4 points?
