I've always found it funny how many males are put off by girls being tall. I tried online dating for a while and it was amazing how many rude to extremely rude responses I got simply due to my height, which I never understood. I'd get messages like "wow ur huge" or "but you're 6'" which were kind of funny but a bit immature. I'd get a whole lot of rude comments about my height when I was at school, but I put it down to kids being stupid more than anything deeply personal.

I'm 6' or just over, I have a boyfriend who is around the same height or smaller (depending on my shoes) and doesn't really care but a lot of his friends and co-workers bring it up like I hadn't noticed. I normally wear size 10 clothes which to me is average, & definitely look skinnier than that because of my height. I still wear heels & platform shoes. I've also had a lot of people say I'm 'intimidating' because of my height even though I'm generally cheerful and talkative.

What's your opinion on tall girls? Guys: would you consider dating someone very tall or taller than yourself, or wouldn't it be an issue? Girls: do you find taller girls intimidating or scary?

    Yes, I would and have.

It all comes down to confidence and having a thick skin.

If other people have a problem with it, they are the ones who need to get over it.

It's just another form of prejudice and passing comment is a form of mass bullying trying to get you to conform with other people's definition of social acceptence.

Frankly, I think dating someone shorter (if you are female and vice versa if male) shows real strength of character, displays self confdence and is a very visible snub to the mainstream which sets you apart as someone who does not need approval for their decisions and actions.

    Go for it.
