I have recently started my A levels. I am in my first term and I have chosen the following:

    English Literature
    Gov and Politics
    Economics
    Biology

Biology is a bit of a wildcard I know but I enjoy it very much. I chose my a levels initially based around the idea of a career in law, since then though I have explored and spoken to many people and I have decided that law might not be for me due to the competitiveness and the fact that I might have underestimated the time it takes to become established and prestigious. Instead I have decided to go for a career in aviation, which is a massive diversification I know. Both of my uncles are commercial pilots and there advice and guidance have put me on a path that is very appealing to me.
However my application to pilot school is likely to be no where as strong as some other applicants, especially with my a levels not containing physics and maths. I achieved a mediocre set of GCSEs with two As five Bs and two Cs. At a level though I have now realised the seriousness of it, I have stepped up my game and have been achieving no less than a B in all of my subject tests and essays. I received my interim report with target grades of AABC. I am aware it is very early doors but with the determination and hard work I believe this is achievable.
Now my question is advice on a plan b. I am aiming for a career in aviation and my mind is set on it, but if I fall short I would very much like a back up option. I am not keen on the idea of going to uni but it is likely that this will be my only option (unless you have any other suggestions), I would like to know what courses or career paths you think would be suited to me. I was looking at criminology and economics (which I know is equally competitive as law) but I am a little unsure what else might be available so any suggestions are welcome. And any tips you have for me to have a successful AS year would be greatly received.

    Thank you, Jack
