I wasnt sure where else to post this. In the event that I were admitted to A and E do I ave to give them my name? What would happen if I refused, or gave them a false name?

Yes you will need to give them your name, address and date of birth. The time taken up by admin and paperwork in hospitals is hard enough without having to deal with someone who wants to play games.

If you are worried about something silly like not using your real name I doubt its a serious enough issue to warrant a trip to A&E anyway!

Well yes they do ask for your name, address, and DOB as the above poster says. I have no idea what would happen if you refused or gave a false name. Why would you want to do that anyway?

Why would you withhold your name at A&E?

If you give a false name, chances are that it will not match your DoB, and thus it will cause a lot of hassle for the admin staff, who are already under pressure to get things done.
