If I am plotting graphs of conc./time then using the initial rate in the rate equation do I use the initial concentrations of the reactants (iodine, propanone and acid catalyst) before I mix them together or do I calculate their initial concentrations in the mixed solution (which will have a larger volume therefore the concentrations would decrease)?

Thanks

Yo should use concentrations of reacting substances - so after mixing the solutions.
