I am enrolling on the PGA Foundation Programme in January. Will I be eligible for a student grant as I will be on NMW and having to relocate. I am not getting any help from my parents and want to know if I am eligible for any additional help?

Hi Laura,

So we can assist you, can you please advise the name of the institution you will be studying at?

Also, can you please confirm what you mean when you say you will be on 'NMW?'

Thanks.

I will be enrolling on the PGA Foundation Programme through the University Of Birmigham. It is a distance based degree and I have to work a minimum of 30 hours per week at a golf course. I will have to move away from home and be on an income of national minimum wage. I just wanted to see if there is any help financially that I would be entitled too?
Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura,

Thank you for your reply.

Based on the information you have provided, you would not be eligible to receive funding from Student Finance England.

Thanks

What about if I apply for help from the Access to Learning Fund? I will be a part time student but will be struggling with costs. Surely I can get some help from somewhere? Thanks, Laura

Hi Laura,

On this occasion recommend you speak to the University of Birmingham. They will be in the best position to confirm if you will be eligible to receive a repayment from their Access to Learning fund. They can also advise if they can offer any other financial assistance to you.

Thanks.
