Hello,

Just wondering if there are alternative routes that I can take instead of resitting a maths exam? I need a B to get in to Loughborough and I left school with a C.

If there is nothing at all then I am looking to resit next summer.

Thank you!

Resitting is the best way. Or taking AS maths?

If they say they want a B, then they want a B. So, you'll have to resit.

It is looking like I am going to have to resit then, but I have heard that there are possibly other ways to demonstrate my skills in maths in different ways apart from a resit? I am not sure of what these are, but if it can help with me gaining entry into Loughborough, I am more than happy to do so.

Theres some tests which they may ask you to do. But thats more if you dont have A level maths for something like Computer science

I guess you COULD get around it, if you had something like A level stats at a good level. But its easier just to resit 1 or 2 gcse exams.

Have you tried contacting the university to see what their policy is and what options there are?

They may operate a maths competency exam of their own, so perhaps you could do that.

If that's what they want, then that's it, I'm afraid. If they list no acceptable alternatives on the website, then it's resitting or crossing it off your list.
