make a mind map showing human disasters and natural disasters and show how they link. You'd only show tectonic ones. That may help you in what angle to take and then start to structure it from that.

If a tectonic event happens in the middle of nowhere then it doesn't really become a disaster (apart from undersea earthquakes causing tsunamis). It's only because of human activity in tectonically active areas, especially on fault zones, that we are vulnerable and such events, become disasters.

how are you defining disaster?
An event that causes social/economic/physical harm to humans/animals/infrastructure ... If there's a major event in the middle of Antarctica it isn't really a disaster for us.
