# Coordinates watch

1. Hi

I have been given y=x and y=x/4-x. They both intersect at point P. Find the coordinates of P.

How would I go about this? Thanks

a) You could draw the graphs!
b) Most probable answer:

What value of x satisfies both equations?
What value of y satisfies both equations?

It's two simultaneous equations with x and y.

Can you solve them?
3. But won't I have values of X on both sides?

But won't I have values of X on both sides?
Yes. That isn't a problem.
Rearrange to get all x on the one side.
5. Thanks. Which rule do I use to integrate x^2/4-x?

Thanks. Which rule do I use to integrate x^2/4-x?
The question doesn't require integration.

The quotient rule, or write it as and use the product rule
