I'm here because... frankly I don't know what else to do. I'm not sure how I've made it this far into my degree, but somehow I've managed it, though my confidence is now truly waning. I'm severely dyspraxic you see, and struggle hugely with absorbing information and processing my thoughts. I feel totally lost this year and the uphill battle ahead of me (to complete my degree) seems utterly impossible. I can spend literally 100's of hours writing, what seem like straightforward no pressure assignments (judging by everyone elses ability to knock them out within a few days of deadline day). And most of my time is spent being miserable and depressed and hating myself for my incompetence (Which is a shame because I really feel like I'm a happy and fun person most of the time).
Yeah so basically this sucks, I'm so close to packing in my degree but can't bare facing my family and friends. It'd be such a waste of time and money as well, what the hell would I do? Ahh I'm sure I'd find some other vocation, but the overall feeling of failure would be pretty crippling.
I just don't get the help that I feel I need, I don't like turning to my family because I end up taking my frustration out on them. My friends all have their own **** going on and the university system really doesn't accommodate people like me (I've tried everything they have to offer).
Anyway as I said it's getting to a point where I have to be realistic, at the rate I am going there is no way I'll be able to complete the ridiculous workload expected of me this year. If I drop out at the end of this term i'll at least save on next terms tuition. Alternatively I have a bit of inheritance money which I think I'd be willing to invest into someone to one help or in someone to help ease the workload.
So are there any capable sociologists out there who might be able to help me? This is really my last hope I think, so I'll be forever in your debt.
I'm probably breaking all the rules here, but feel free to message me on here or on my email [Removed - please use PMs or post here directly].
