I read that solids and liquids are not included in the equilibrium constant and that only gaseous and aqueous substances are. Is this true because I've seen an equilibrium question with 2 liquids reactants and 2 liquid products?

If the liquids are all homogeneous they can be used as concentrations ...

.. you are probably referring to the equilibrium of ester hydrolysis.

Just because they are not listed in the equilibrium constant doesn't mean they don't take part in the equilibrium.

Think about saturated solution of any salt. It won't be saturated without a solid present, and saturated solution is in an equilibrium.

No, it was in an equilibrium equation which I then had to write a constant for. So they did take part in the equilibrium but technically if liquids aren't included in the constant then I would have nothing since everything was liquid in that initial equilibrium.

Were these miscible liquids, or did you have two separate phases?
