Accountant which Economics degree

I am planning on doing Economics at uni and if i decided that I would like to be an accountant, how would I do it? I know some people who have an economics degree are accountants, how?
I'm sure there are joint degree courses you can pursue. Search around on UCAS.

Well, an internship at an accountancy firm would probably point you in the right direction I would imagine. I think you need to take a 'professional' qualification (chartered accountancy) test or something to become a qualified accountant? I would say network from day 1 at uni and try and get as much experience as possible before graduating.
