Hello, like most of you studying GCSEs the time is coming where A-Level choices are needing to be selected. I am very good at essay writing, and am interested in a career in law. I have some preliminary ideas in mind for my A-Level choices, though I would still like your opinion on how suitable these are, and if not, which A-Levels would be better. The four which I am currently planning to take to AS are:

    English Literature
    History
    French
    Classical Civilisation

    Thank you in advance.

English literature and Langauge includes a lot of essays as does Sociology. Taking Sociology at Sixth Form, has allowed me to develop my essay writing skills considerably and furthermore i think it would benefit you, if you are especially talented int his area. Your other subjects seem pretty applicable however, i have never heard of Classical Civilisation to give my view on. If the A-level doesnt suit you, you can change it within the first few months of taking it. Good luck, im sure you'll do fine

Geography sounds like your best bet, compliments the sciences well but is not a science in its own right, so adds a bit of flexibility.

I am also trying to decide a fourth course. Am currently thinking: English lit, business studies, theater studies. I am wondering whether I'd need to balance out my choices by choosing maths, although french would probably show flexibility. I'm also interested in film studies- it would 'prop' my English lit course, although I'm not sure how respected it is! Art is another option.. So confused right now...!
