There's a guy I'm quite good friends with at uni and he's pretty much my closest friend who lives in my uni city, apart from my housemates. Anyway, it turns out he doesn't actually have any flatmates because his halls are catered, so bedrooms are completely separate, in a similar lay out to a hotel. And I don't think he's apart of any societies, so it seems his only friends here are me and a couple of other guys. But the other 2 guys commute and don't stay around to socialise ... Anyway, what can I suggest we do, it needs to be something that won't sound like it's a date. His halls are catered, but I think he has to buy lunch, but what else can we do? Going to see a film seems perhaps a bit too date-like. We're in Portsmouth and I have 2 unlimited tickets to see everything in the historic dockyards, I could perhaps see if he's interested in that ?? What else can we do, that isn't too date like ???

I'm not sure he would be up for watching a chick-flick and painting his nails I can be girly like that, but equally I enjoy playing some video games (and so does he) although I'm not sure I should almost invite myself round his

Well if you act like you think that everything will be like a date then it will come across as a date. Act casual as you would with your girls friends. Maybe watch a comedy that's for guys and girls. And you can go to his place. What happened to the good old days where you could do anything freely without feeling awks about it. Its about your intentions tbh

I wouldn't particularly mind if it turned a bit date like. But we're just friends and he's made it clear he only wants to be friends, so I don't want to turn it into a date ...

I think you can go to a club or something, or watch a movie. Or just go somewhere to talk with each other. Just go shopping together, you will be able to help each other.
