Oh God, I had a couple every week. I got suspended a couple of times too, usually for really minor stuff like being cheeky.

Answering back?
Pretty much. I don't believe I should respect someone if they're being rude to me or others, regardless of age or profession.

Quite a few mainly for being late to registration or not handing in homework, I'd say 1 every fortnight was the average but most teachers would let me go half way through

Only those stupid detentions that the whole class got for one person doing something and who wouldn't admit it.

Yes but you have to admit it's behaviour like that that stops the teacher from being able to teach and, hence, do their job. I am a teacher and I have no hesitation in throwing out and phoning home for any student who answers me back or is rude in any other way.

The only time I have ever got a detention was my time-out in year four for being "too excited". People sometimes ask me why I look so sad, now they all know.

Well don't be rude to your students then. I had one teacher call me out in front of the whole class and accuse me of making up my mental health problems and try to stop me going to an appointment. Sorry that I was less than polite back.

I had to spend a week of detention in summer because I didn't go to school on term time for a week.
