This question has confused me tbh:

http://nrich.maths.org/4911/index

Because I also want to know if there is a pattern for the biggest number of BL's and smallest number of BL's, and how I would find a prediction?

What mathematical approach can be used to solve this problem?
Someone told me the nth term, but I don't know how to do it using the nth term to find a pattern and a prediction as well.

Is there a reason you're asking here, rather than on the nrich forums?
