Hi,

I've been living in Canada for the last nine months on a temporary work permit. Prior to this I was resident in the UK for over ten years and have been a British citizen my entire life.

I'm considering returning to the UK to study in 2014, however I'm not sure if I will be eligible for finance due to my short time away in Canada? Will I need to live back in England for 3 years before I can apply again?

Thanks

Hi there,

Providing your time in Canada is on a temporary basis, and you can provide evidence to this (for examples, copies of your work visa and an employment contract showing the duration of your overseas work) you would still be eligible to apply for student finance.

Your eligibility would be determined after you have supplied your application and supplied evidence of your temporary overseas stay.

Please note that applications for courses starting on or after 1st September 2014 will be available Early 2014.
