major blisters

Hey, I was handing out flyers for like 6 hours yesterday, and decided to wear sandals....

Anyho I've got some mean looking blisters on the bottom of my feet, at the front bit, they're about 3cm by 1.5cm.

When I try to pop them using a needle only some of the liquid comes out. I'm meant to be handing out flyers again today.

Any advice on how to treat them?
Have a very hot bath or soak them so they swell up before you pop them.

Put blister plasters on them. They cushion the blisters so you can walk without being in pain, and they reduce them. Small squarish green box in the chemists.

Edit: And don't pop them.

blister plasters are genius
(but expensive)

I dont think you should drain all the fluid out of the blister. Your body's produced fluid in the area to protect some damage you did with all that walking round so draining it off might cause more damage
wear flip flops and get some air to it, the blister plasters always fall off and they are really expensive

I had some immense blisters on my hands once, and blister plasters were the worst invention ever because they are so unsticky.
blister plasters are good just make sure u take it easy when walking around otherwise they will become ineffective...(found out the hard way ....ouch:frown: )

Also i found they are no good for ankles...

I got some huge ones on my heels a few weeks ago and found that they were a lot less painful once I'd popped them, but I'm not sure if you're meant to or not. I just couldn't stand them any longer.

Where are they on your feet? If they're on the sole then you're going to be in pain doing the flyers today. If they're on your heels then wear flip flops.
Heat up the needle first to sterilise it, and then pop them. Drain the fluid, and cover with a blister plaster. Basically, if the blister pops by itself it is likelyto remove skin and not heal properly, whereas popping it yourself with a sterile needle and then covering it when youhave to (leaving itopen at night) means it will heal better.

You might also want to consider wearing better footwear, like properly fitting walking boots or trainers so that it doesn't happen againg. Plus you can sunbrn your feet wearing sandals, which isn't pleasant.
